Drug and Alcohol-Addictions Counseling


The Mental Health and Human Service Program ( MHHS) offers college level classes and internship experience that meet most requirements to sit for the Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor I (CADC I) exam in the state of Oregon.

Requirements for (CADC I) offered within the MHHS degree program include:

HS 111, 112, 113 (Interviewing Skills I, II (Basic Counseling Skills and
III (Cross Cultural Skills)
Series begins in Fall
HS 225 Group Counseling Theory and Practice I Fall
HS 141 Pharmacology of Psychoactive Substances Fall
HS 142 Addiction Counseling: Prevention, Assessment and Treatment Spring
HS 150 The Effective Helper (Ethics) Winter
HE 208 AIDS and Other Sexually Transmitted Infections Fall, Winter
Internship (HS291 – Seminar and WE280- cooperative education 480 hours toward 1,000 hour CADC I requirement.
