• About the DRC

  • Mission:

The Diversity Resource Center (DRC) provides a welcoming, safe, culturally respectful, and collaborative learning environment that serves all members of the MHCC community. The DRC embodies the fundamental advantages of an education that values difference, equality, and inclusion through creating social connection between different populations. The DRC empowers students to thrive in a global community where diversity, by definition, is fluid and changing. The DRC recognizes that each member of the MHCC community contributes to diversity in the fullest context through their own culture, world-view, gender, generation, race, and life experience or through varying ability or definition of identity. The DRC provides a space that encourages students to become leaders and stewards of equity and inclusion on this campus and in the community.

    You are Diversity
    We are Diversity

The mission of the DRC is in alignment with the Mt. Hood Community College diversity and access vision which can be seen here: http://mhcc.edu/AccessDiversity

    About the Diversity Resource Center:

The DRC is collaborative venture between the Associated Student Government (ASG) of Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) and the MHCC administration.

DRC events, activities, and the intercultural library are tools designed to promote dialogue and learning about diversity, inclusion, power, inequity, and privilege on campus, in the community, domestically, and across global cultures.

MHCC faculty, students, staff and community members are invited to use the DRC services to enhance their educational, professional, and developmental goals by learning about varying perspectives, critical thought, as well as gaining knowledge of the College's support services and community resources.
