    Lifeguarding

    Lifeguarding (College Credit HPE291-E1)
    Lifeguarding prepares the candidate to prevent and respond to emergencies in, on and around the water. Upon successful completion of this class, candidates will hold certifications in First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and Lifeguarding. Class fee does not include textbooks or pocket masks.
    15+ years T/Th 6:10–9 p.m. April 4–May 4 2 credits

    Lifeguarding (Community)
    Lifeguarding prepares the candidate to prevent and respond to emergencies in, on and around the water. Upon successful completion of this class, candidates will hold certifications in First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and Lifeguarding. Class fee does not include pocket masks. Textbooks will be provided.
    15+ years T/Th 6–9 p.m. May 9–June 8 $250

    Water Safety Instructor

    This course trains instructor candidates to teach courses and presentations in the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program. Candidates must be 16 years of age on or before May 4. Online registration fee of $35 payable to American Red Cross in addition to class fee listed below.
    16+ years T/Th 6–9 p.m. April 4–May 4 $215

    Group Classes

    Does your group need certifications? American Red Cross Preparedness programs in First Aid, CPR, Automated External Defibrillator, Basic Water Rescue, Safety Training for Swim Coaches and Lifeguarding are available for your group. These are offered in modules that can be combined to fit your specific needs. If you have a group of five or more people requiring certification, please call 503-491-7246 and ask about booking a class.
