  • Lap and Open Recreation Swims - Winter 2019

    Open recreation times are offered as a drop-in fee, punch-card fee or membership. Call or stop by the front desk for more information on group usage. Admission is free to MHCC students, faculty and staff (staff or student ID is required).

    Drop-In Daily Admission
    Cost: $4.25 for Children 0–17, Veterans, and Seniors (62+)
    $5.50 for Adults.

    Lap and Open Recreation Punch Card
    10 or 20 admissions to adult lap swim or open recreation, valid for 6 months.
    Cost: $38.25 10-punch, $70 20-punch for Children, Veterans, and Seniors
    $50 10-punch, $90 20-punch for Adults.

    Lap and Open Recreation Membership
    Winter term, Jan. 2-March 22, 2019 (12 weeks): Individual: Adult/Senior or Veteran $94/$70
    Couple Adult/Senior $150/$112
    Family: $135 (Add-ons $20 ea.).

    *Family membership includes up to 2 adults and 3 children in the same household; additional children family members are $22 each per term or $44 school year.

    Swimmers ages 15 years and younger must pass a swim test and seek prior approval before attending.

    Our Swimming Pools and Facilities

    The Hydrotherapy Pool is a smaller pool warm pool for adults only. The temperature is maintained at 100 - 102 degrees.

    The Learner Pool is available during community open recreation swims for young children and their parents and has a variety of water toys available. This pool is also used for preschool swim lessons, water exercise classes and for adults during adult lap swim. The pool is 2 1/2 to 4ft deep and the temperature is maintained at 88 - 90 degrees.

    The 25 - yard Pool is an indoor facility that is six lanes wide, has a one - meter diving, and an accessible ladder. This pool is used during all adult lap swim hours, community open recreation swims and for swim lessons. This pool is 3 ½ to 13ft deep and the temperature is maintained at 83 - 85 degrees.

    The 50 - meter Pool is covered by an air dome during the school year and is outdoors in the spring and summer. This pool is used for adult lap swims, college classes, swim team and water polo practice, tournaments and competitions. Open recreation swim is offered in the summer months. The pool is 25 yards by 50 meters and is 6ft to 16ft deep. Temperature is maintained at 79 - 81 degrees.

    Locker Rooms are located in the indoor natatorium. Both men and women's locker rooms have accessible showers, changing area, and coin operated lockers for your convenience.

    Alternative Changing Areas

    Mt. Hood Aquatic Center offers two alternative changing areas for families. One is located near the men's locker room from the deck and is adjacent to the Hydrotherapy pool. This changing area includes a shower and curtain stalls for changing. Restrooms under the bleachers are also available as a changing area.

    Concessions and Vending Machines

    Our concessions stand is located at our main entrance and is open during all program hours. We offer a variety of snacks, coffee, pastries, and cold beverages. Vending Machines are located in the lobby and offer a selection of snacks and sodas.

    Pool Use Guidelines

    1. Parents or guardians are strongly encouraged to remain in the facility during open recreation swim for children ages 9 to 12 years.
    2. Children ages 8 years and younger must be accompanied in the water, in any pool, by a responsible person who is at least 16 years old. This person must be in the water with the child and must be wearing appropriate swim attire.
    3. Clean, proper swimming attire must be worn, such as one - or two - piece swimsuits, board shorts and/or rash guard shirts. Long baggy shorts and T - shirts are not permitted. Street shoes are not allowed on the pool deck.
    4. If children are not toilet trained, they must wear plastic pants or appropriate swim diapers. Please use only the changing tables in the main locker rooms when a diaper change is needed.
    5. The Learner Pool has a capacity of 30 swimmers. An adult must accompany children ages 7 years and younger in the water, even if the child is wearing a life jacket.
    6. All flotation devices and toys must be approved by the head lifeguard before entering the pool area.
    7. Non - swimmers are strongly encouraged to wear life jackets in all pools. Non - swimmers must wear life jackets in deep water.
    8. A swimming test may be requested of swimmers before entering deep water.
    9. Swimmers must be able to swim 15 yards without a life jacket or other flotation device to use the diving board.
    10. Food and drink are restricted from the pool deck, but are allowed in the spectator areas. No glass containers allowed in the facility. No smoking on campus.

    Management and staff will not be responsible for lost or stolen items. Please do not bring valuables to the aquatic center.
