When do I have to pay for the classes?

No one told me that I was added to a class from the waiting list, so I didn't go. Why am I being billed?

R. You are responsible to find out if you've been added to a class from a wait list. Click here for more details

Q.

I went to add/change a class, and my account is on hold. Why?

R. Most commonly, you haven't paid your tuition. Click here for more details

Q.

I have a scholarship/financial aid, why am I getting bills?

R. Your scholarship/financial aid have not posted to your account or did not cover all charges. Click here for more details. Contact the Financial Aid office to check the status of your financial aid.
Q.

I owe for a previous term, can I make payment arrangements so I can get registered for this term?

R. No, the college cannot make special payment arrangements.
Q. I never went to that class, why should I pay for it?
R. You reserved a seat in that class and are responsible for payment.
Q. I need a copy of my transcripts, and there is a hold on my account. Why?
R. You probably owe money to the college. Click here for more details
Q. My boss, NAFTA, Voc Rehab, etc. is paying for my class, why am I getting bills?
R. Accounts Receivable doesn't have a current authorization on file. Click here for more details
Q. I'm waiting for my financial aid so I can pay for the classes, why am I getting late fees
R. Regardless of when or whether you receive financial aid, you are responsible to pay your tuition by the first day of the term or late fees will be charged every 30 days it is past due.
Q. I signed up for the installment plan. Why did I get a bill with late fees on it, I made the payments on time?
R. If you made any changes to your schedule that increased the total tuition for the term, the amount due for each installment date would also increase. The installment amounts on your student account will reflect the correct amounts. Click here for more details
Q. I don't get paid until after the term ends; can you put a note on my account so I don't get sent to collections?
R. No, the college cannot make special payment arrangements
Q. I'm waiting for financial aid, and I need to register for next term.
R. If you owe any money for a previous term, you will not be able to register for the next term.
Q. My account is delinquent; can I make payments to avoid late fees or collections?

Q. I filed a petition, why am I getting charged late fees?
R. When you file a petition, your account is active and accruing late fees when there is a balance. If your petition is approved, your late fees will be covered by the appeal unless there are other non-covered classes that remain unpaid. If your petition is denied, you are responsible for paying the tuition and late fees.
Q. I need to know how much my son/daughter owes so I can pay for her classes.
R. Unless we have a signed consent form on file, we cannot give you any information regarding your child's account. Students can set up authorized payers through MyMHCC who would have the ability to review the student’s account balance and pay online on your behalf.  Click here for more details
Q. I need to know if my son/daughters acct is paid, I gave him/her the money, but we keep getting bills.
R. Unless we have a signed consent form on file, we cannot give you any information regarding your child's account. Q. My account is on hold, and I need a copy of my transcripts for my parents so they'll pay the tuition.
R. Transcripts will not be released if your account is on hold. You may set your parents up as an authorized payer through MyMHCC which will allow them to pay your account online. It does not give them authority to view your transcript.
Q. I need to know if my son/daughter is attending classes before I'll pay.
R. Admissions and Records can tell you if your son/daughter is enrolled at Mt. Hood Community College, but not if they are attending their classes. The student is responsible for payment of charges incurred when registering, whether or not they attend class. Q. Why can't I get a refund if there is a credit on my acct?
R. Refunds are first applied to any outstanding college charges. Click here for more details
