• MHCC rated among the top 20 community colleges in the U.S.

    The nation is filled with some top-notch community colleges and Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) is being recognized as among the best. 
     
    According to a report published from the personal-finance website WalletHub that named 2022’s Best & Worst Community Colleges, Mt. Hood Community College was rated 9th in the country for cost, financing, education outcomes and career outcomes. 
     
    “This report supports what we have long known here in Oregon, MHCC stands out for providing students an affordable path to get the skills they need to start a career,” said Dr. Lisa Skari, MHCC President. “This is a great reflection of the dedication and work our staff and faculty do in support of our students’ success.”
     
    Not only was MHCC recognized as one of the best, but three other Oregon colleges were also among the top.  Tillamook Bay Community College, Blue Mountain Community College and Clackamas Community College were also rated in the top 20.  
     
    Along with cost/financing, education outcomes and career outcomes, some of the other metrics used in evaluating the colleges included cost of in-state tuition and fees, average amount of grant or scholarship aid received, faculty salary, graduation rate, student-faculty ratio and median salary after attending.
