Mt. Hood Community College is an award-winning institution of higher education that is touching lives in many ways.
From being an economic engine that brings hundreds of millions of dollars into our community, to providing great educational services to area residents, MHCC has been a vital part of the East County since it opened in 1966. And now, 50 years later, the college is as important as ever!

It’s our 50th anniversary and we’re inviting the community to help us celebrate with a variety of events! Check back on this webpage for additional events or details.
- Charter Day—Tuesday, April 5, at noon in the Student Union (AC1051). Come enjoy light refreshments, look through annual history journals, browse old photos and share memories about your time at MHCC.
- Golden Anniversary Gala and Auction—Saturday, April 23, in the Yoshida Event Center
- Election—Tuesday, May 17. Results on the MHCC Go Bond start coming in after 8 p.m.
- MHCC Adult High School diplomas and GED graduation—Friday, June 10, 7 p.m. at the Earl Klapstein Stadium
- MHCC Associates degrees Commencement—Saturday, June 11, 10 a.m. at the Earl Klapstein Stadium
- Strawberry Short Course—Saturday, June 18, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Come by this community event to celebrate with short classes and demonstrations, free planetarium shows, kids games, historical photos and special 50th anniversary events!
