  • Section 4000: Facilities/Risk Management
    Public Access to College Locations
    Administrative Regulation: AR-4100-A

    President’s Cabinet (PC) Approval: 9/14/84
    Revised: 3/5/96

Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) is dedicated to an open, free society and welcomes the general public to all its locations. However, the College is an educational institution and this primary mission takes precedence over all other activities. For this purpose, the MHCC District Board of Education has adopted Board policies and administrative regulations regulating speakers on campus and representatives of organizations not associated with the College.

Individuals not enrolled as students nor employed by the College are welcome on campus, whether they have particular business to conduct or not, so long as their presence does not interfere with the orderly operation of the College. Since administrative regulations pertaining to student discipline do not apply to visitors, any interference with the orderly operation of the College will be referred to public safety and/or civil authorities.

    1. Gresham Campus Public Safety Personnel
The Gresham Campus public safety personnel are responsible for controlling public access to all campus locations and will regulate public access in accordance with the following:

      3. All campus locations will be closed on legal holidays except for approved special events.
      4. All campus locations may be closed for weather or other emergency situations.

Bicycles are not allowed inside any campus building at any time. Bike racks are provided on campus for convenience.

Campus public safety personnel are instructed to take appropriate action to enforce the above regulations including arresting trespassers who refuse to leave the campus
    2. Use of Parking Lots
This regulation establishes procedures for the proper utilization and control of parking lots.
      1. Parking is allowed only in properly designated parking spaces for motorized vehicles and motorcycles.
      2. Reserved parking is by permit only issued through the president’s office.
      3. All handicapped parking spaces require the display of a state issued Handicapped parking placard or license plate.
      4. Carpool parking is by permit only issued through the College center for students and issued through facilities management for faculty and staff.
      5. Overnight parking of recreational vehicles is prohibited
      6. Parking in designated “Fire Lanes” is prohibited.
      7. Public safety must be notified of any vehicle left in a parking lot overnight. The owner should provide a contact name, phone number, vehicle description and the vehicle license plate number.
