It is the hiring administrator/manager’s responsibility to work with human resources to recruit and hire part-time employees.
The practice of utilizing employees for combined part-time instructional and non-instructional assignments is discouraged but permissible. If the combination of part-time instructional and non-instructional assignments is projected to exceed 49% of a full-time position due to extenuating circumstances, it must be approved by the appropriate deans and vice presidents of the areas. This approval of exceeding 49% of a full-time position can only be for one fiscal year and cannot be extended without the College president’s approval.
