    Administrative Regulation: AR-7020-C

The Associated Students of Mt. Hood Community College (ASMHCC) is charged with the responsibility to develop an annual student fee budget to fund a comprehensive co-curricular and Athletic program designed to encourage the personal and social development of students. The activities are open and available to all MHCC students. The ASMHCC should receive sufficient financial support to fund Advocate, ASG, Athletics, Forensics, Leadership Programs, Perceptions, Venture and the student radio station operations. Student leaders are expected to budget wisely and use responsible and generally accepted accounting procedures.

Finances to support these programs will be provided from the following sources:

    1. As recommended by the College president, the Board authorizes the collection and distribution of a student fee to support co-curricular programs and athletics. Changes to the student fee need Board approval. These student service funds are to be disbursed on a comprehensive program basis of 50 percent for student activities/co-curricular programs and 50 percent for intercollegiate sports after fixed costs have been deducted. Athletics and co-curricular programs will each build a contingency into their respective budgets.

    2. Student Fees will fund the following programs: Advocate, ASG, Athletics, Forensics, Leadership Programs, Perceptions, Venture and the student radio station. The funding will be sufficient to provide a basic program consistent with the philosophy approved by the Administration at MHCC. Trust accounts may be established in these areas to provide incentives to raise program money.

All expenditures from both the ASMHCC budget and the trust accounts must have the approval of the appropriate director/adviser and vice president of student success and enrollment management or designee.
