    Andrew Speer

    Andrew Speer was elected to the MHCCD Board of Education in 2019 to a four-year term representing Zone 3. He is an economist by profession and has a background in economic modeling and financial analysis. Andrew is an active community volunteer having served on the City of Portland’s Charter Review Commission, past board member of the Gresham Chamber of Commerce, and a current board trustee for WorldOregon. He proudly served as an infantryman in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years and is an alumnus of MHCC, having graduated with his associate degree in economics before transferring to Portland State University to earn his bachelor’s and then master’s degrees in the same discipline.

    Board Vice Chair
    Zone 1, 2017-2025

    Diane McKeel

    Diane was elected to a four-year term on the MHCCD Board of Education representing Zone 1 in 2017, and was recently re-elected to serve an additional four-year term to 2025. Her background in service to her community dates back many years both as a volunteer and as an elected official. Diane served two full terms as the Multnomah County commissioner representing East County. She also served 10 years as the executive director of the West Columbia Gorge Chamber of Commerce and is currently a partner in her family’s development Oxbow LLC. Her interests and leadership at the local, state and national levels has been invaluable to veteran’s programs, human trafficking prevention programs, our libraries and the economic development of our area. Diane holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and a graduate certificate in dental hygiene from Oregon Health and Science University. Diane and her husband, Mike, are longtime residents of East Multnomah County where they raised their three grown children.

    Zone 2, 2021-2025

    Marie Teune

    Marie Teune was elected to a four-year term of the MHCCD Board of Education representing Zone 2 in 2021. Marie also serves on the Board of Directors for the Oregon Trail School District, and served in other positions for the Oregon Trail School District that include the Budget Committee and Chair of the Oregon Trail Education Foundation. In addition, she has been active in the Sandy community with the Sandy area Chamber of Commerce Board, Sandy Area Buyers Pool Board, Trauma Intervention Program Volunteer, and President of the Sandy High School Booster Club.

    Annette Mattson
    Zone 4, 2017-2025

    Annette Mattson

    Annette Mattson was elected to a four-year term on the MHCCD Board of Education in 2017, representing Zone 4, and was recently re-elected to serve an additional four-year term to 2025. She was also president of the Oregon Community College Association in 2019-2020. She currently serves as Chair of the OCCA Legislative Committee.  Her past service in elected office includes 18 years on the David Douglas School Board, 7 years on the Oregon School Boards Association board, and serving as OSBA president in 2009. Annette retired from Portland General Electric where she worked as a local government affairs and public policy manager. She has chaired the boards of the North Clackamas County Chamber of Commerce, the Clackamas County Economic Development Commission and the Clackamas County Business Alliance. Annette has an associate degree in general studies from MHCC, and a bachelor's degree in human development from Warner Pacific College. She is also an ordained Interfaith Minister.

    Kenney Polson
    Zone 5, 2015-2023

    Kenney Polson was elected to a four-year term of the MHCCD Board of Education representing Zone 5 in 2015, and was re-elected to a second four-year term in 2019. Kenney works as a music teacher and is a professional jazz musician. His background in music education includes stops at Marylhurst University, Merced College, the International School of Beijing, Howard University and the American School of Rio de Janeiro. He has an associates of arts degree from Fresno City College, a bachelor’s degree in music education from Fresno State University, a master’s degree in jazz composition from Howard University, a master’s degree in education administration from Lewis and Clark College, and a master’s degree in restorative practices from the International School of Restorative Practice. In addition, he is also a voting member in the Recording Academy (Grammys).

    Diane Noriega was elected to the MHCCD Board of Education in 2019 to a four-year term as an at-large member. Having previously spent four years serving on the board between 2011 and 2015, this will be her second time serving. Most recently, Noriega was vice president of the MHCC Foundation Board. Her professional background includes experience as the interim president, provost and academic vice president and professor at California State University Monterey Bay, and dean of the College of Education at Sacramento State University. She holds a doctorate from the University of California Santa Barbara, a master’s degree in Spanish language and literature from The University of California, Davis and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of California Santa Barbara.

    ShaToyia Bentley

    ShaToyia Bentley was appointed to the MHCCD Board of Education in 2022 to a five-month term as an at-large member. She is an alumnus of MHCC, having graduated with her associate of applied science degree in business management with a focus on small business and entrepreneurship, also, earning certificates in small business and entrepreneurship and retail management as part of the program. Upon completion at MHCC, she transferred to Portland State University and earned a bachelor of science degree in urban and public affairs, specializing in community development. While attending Portland State University, she was the vice chair of the Student Fee Committee. She has over a decade of experience working in small business, nonprofit, and government.
