  • Korey Kier - Head Coach

    Korey Kier has 22 years of experience coaching and mentoring athletes.  He has spent time on a mat, a football sideline, in a baseball dugout, behind a radar gun, on a microphone and if you have the time to hear the story, in skate parks around the USA. Coach Kier has been blessed to coach and mentor many great people throughout his career.  Coach Kier has been married for 30 years to his wife Deborah and has 2 sons Kaleb (20) and Dylan (18).   Below is the experience Coach Kier will lean on to maintain a successful well respected Baseball program here at Mt Hood Community College.

    Korey Kier

    2000-2009, Coach Kier was the Head Baseball Coach at LaSalle, Sunset and Columbia River High School.  His coaching record during that time was 150-104 and was Tri-Valley Coach of the Year in 2003.

    2010-2012 Coach Kier served as the Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Mt Hood Community College. 

    In 2014-2022 Coach Kier went back to Columbia River, as the Associate Head Baseball Coach, Head Freshman Football Coach and Varsity Running Backs Coach. 

    In 2019 Merit Award Winner- Washington State Coaches Association.

    Coach Kier is extremely honored and excited to lead one of the northwest premier junior college baseball programs and is dedicated to upholding and honoring the traditions of its alumni and players past.

    Ian Erickson - Assistant Coach

    Ian Erickson is a 2013 graduate from MHCC having played two years under former Saint Head Coach Bryan Donohue. After MHCC, Ian continued his playing career at Concordia University Portland and graduated in 2016.

    Following his playing career, Ian was heavily involved with NW Star Baseball Academy, coaching and mentoring players ages 13-18. Following NW Star, Ian continued his coaching career at Lakeridge high school and Astoria High School. Ian is extremely humbled to be back with MHCC as an assistant coach and looks forward to the continued success with the Baseball program.


    Brent Johnson - Assistant Coach

    Coach Johnson joined the Saints in 2013 and has been a great addition to help continue the winning tradition here at MHCC. As the infield coach, Brent helps keep the foundation of the Saints defense strong and always in position to capture yet another Southern Region championship.

    Originally from Dayton High School in Nevada, where Brent was a four-year letterman and all league infielder, Coach Johnson played his college ball at Feather River Community College (99-00). Immediately following his career at Feather River, he began his coaching career, starting as a private instructor with youth and high school players in the Reno Nevada area as a part of Bret's Baseball Academy. From 2004-2012, Coach Johnson coached a select team, the Reno Muckdogs, where in 2008, his team won a bronze medal at the AAU Junior Olympics. Many of Coach Johnson's former players and students have continued on to play at various levels of college and professional baseball around the country.


    Tristan Metcalf - Assistant Coach

    Tristan Metcalf
