Kirsten "Kirt" Day - Head Coach
Coach Kirsten “Kirt” Day returned to Mt. Hood as the head coach in the Spring of 2021. Coach Day played for Mt. Hood Community College in 1983 & 1984 under Dorian Harris and Terry Neuberger-Folen. "I loved playing at Mt. Hood. I have such wonderful
memories, from the players, coaches and the 20-0 record we earned for both seasons."
In 2014 she earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at Mt. Hood and 2016 she earned her Bachelor Degree in Human Development. "I feel like it’s come full circle for me, my time has come here at Mt. Hood, and I am so excited to be here, and
given this opportunity."
Coach Day started playing volleyball her sophomore year in high school along with club, and began coaching club her senior year in high school. This year (’21) will mark her 39th year of coaching in the Northwest. She has coached for four high school
programs, one other college program, and she is currently the Director of North Clackamas Volleyball Club, and the head coach for the top 14s team. "Volleyball is my passion, and I truly love this sport and have been very fortunate to coach many
players that have continued their volleyball careers to the college level, and one professionally."
My coaching philosophy has evolved throughout the years, and I believe what is most important to a program to succeed on and off the court is teaching life skills, building trust, creating lifelong relationships, and creating an environment that is
positive, interactive, and competitive. I want each player to be successful on the court, and in the classroom, knowing that they are supported as a student-athlete."
Coach Day also works at part-time at the Portland International Airport. She has two grown sons and one grandson.
Kiana Miller - Assistant Coach
Cassidy Monda - Assistant Coach
Cassidy Monda began coaching with Mt. Hood for the 2022 season and is excited to be back for a second season. In high school, she played under Coach Day at Clackamas High School and received MVP for her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons. She
also played for North Clackamas Volleyball Club for seven years and recently coached for the club's 12's team, which she really enjoyed. Coach Monda played collegiately at both Clackamas Community College and George Fox University as a Middle
and Right-side hitter.
Coach Monda graduated from the University of Oregon in 2018 and has a B.S. in Public Relations, and in addition to Mt. Hood works for a marketing agency in Portland. She lives in Gresham with her husband and dog.
Charley Stoinoff - Assistant Coach
Coach Stoinoff has served under former Head Coach Kristina Crivello Gibbs and returned to Mt. Hood after Coach Day was named the head coach. Coach Stoinoff developed a passion for volleyball when she was eleven years-old. She played club throughout
high school and on our high school team until her junior before directing her attention to a pathway in nursing.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014, she has been working as a nurse primarily with infants and children before progressing toward an educator role in 2022.
Coach Stoinoff started her coaching career at 18 years of age when she was assigned a 16’s top team. After taking a few years off to get her nursing degree, the coaching bug started sparked her interest once again and she started coaching with Coach Day in 2016 as the assistant coach for North Clackamas Volleyball Club’s (NCVBC) top 14’s team. In 2018-19, she started coaching with Coach Crivello-Gibbs before returning to coach with Coach Day at the NCVBC and then later at Mt. Hood in 2021.
