Certification

  • The program curriculum provides opportunities for individual certifications in Leave No Trace, Swiftwater Rescue, Rock Climbing, Wilderness First Responder, Avalanche Training, Rafting, and High Angle Rescue, Challenge Course Facilitation, and Whitewater Kayaking.

    Completion of classes does not guarantee certification. Certification is based on performance and standards set by certifying organization.

  • Rescue 3 logo

    Swiftwater Rescue Technician and Technical Rope Rescue Technician

    Students can become certified as Swiftwater Rescue Technicians and Technical Rope Rescue: Technician Level through Rescue 3 International.

    Level 1 and Level 2 Avalanche

    Students have the opportunity to become Level 1 and Level 2 certified through American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE). These courses teach how to minimize risks while traveling in avalanche terrain.

    Raft Instructor

    The American Canoe Association (ACA) Raft instructor course prepares you to be a whitewater raft instructor. This course will develop and test student’s proficiencies in Safety Awareness, technical knowledge, paddling/rowing skills and technique, and teaching ability.

    Cards of Completion

    We provide Cards of Completion for Paddle Rafting, Oar Rafting and Whitewater Kayaking through the American Canoe Association (ACA).

    Climbing Wall Instructor

    The Professional Climbing Instructors Association (PCIA) Climbing Wall Instructor Program (CWI) certifies professionals who teach in an indoor or artificial wall environment. This course addresses the basic technical skills necessary to manage an instructional program at a climbing facility.

    Leave No Trace Trainer

    The certification focuses on teaching the participants to teach others about Leave No Trace and the importance of using these skills in every aspect of their lives. Upon successful completion, participants will become Leave No Trace Trainers and will be able to teach Awareness Workshops.

    Challenge Course Facilitator Level 1

    Students will be certified as Level 1 Challenge Course Facilitators through the Association of Challenge Course Technology (ACCT).

    Wilderness First Responder

    Students will be certified as Wilderness First Responders through the Wilderness Medicine Training Center (WMTC). Students will be trained to respond to medical emergency in remote backcountry settings.
