Early Childhood Education and Family Studies

  • Why Choose the Early Childhood Education Profession?

Our Early Childhood Education program prepares students for careers in the field of early learning and caregiving by building their knowledge and skills for best practices in our profession and aligning with NAEYC standards. Early childhood educators have the opportunity to make a tremendous impact on the lives of children by supporting their physical, cognitive, and social emotional development in partnership with their families and within our diverse communities.

Through coursework, field experiences, and reflections on developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive practices, students achieve the competencies required to contribute to the vital and dynamic field of early childhood education, and to related fields such as social and human services, elementary education, or the health profession.
