• Need a job? MHCC's Fall Career Fair is on Oct. 24

    Adulting – To behave like an adult, specifically to do the things – often mundane – that an adult is expected to do. (Merriam-Webster)

    Let’s face it – “Adulting” is easier when you have a job. Find yours or change your career path entirely by attending the MHCC Fall Career Fair on October 24 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Vista Dining Hall on the Gresham Campus.

    Fall Career Fair

    Representatives from more than 50 employers who have seasonal, full- and part-time job openings available will be at this year’s event, which will also offer opportunities to build networks and learn about new industries and jobs. There will also be workshops prior to and after the fair, including:

    Drop-in Resume Help
    Oct. 16 or 17
    10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Cole, Room AC 2340
    Students will receive hands-on assistance creating or updating a resume in anticipation of the career fair or other job-seeking activities.

     

    Prepare for the Fair
    Oct. 21
    Noon – 1 p.m.
    Town and Gown, Room AC 2059
    Gain insight on how to get the most from attending a career fair.

    Interview Tips
    Nov. 1
    1-2 p.m.
    Students will leave armed with tips for a successful interview for program admission or their next job opportunity.

    All are welcome to attend the Fall Career Fair, including students at all stages of their academic journey and members of the community who are interested in regional organizations and open positions.

    If you plan to attend, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

    • Bring several copies of your resume.
    • Practice “pitching” yourself beforehand – have your career goals in mind, as well as your work history and skill sets.
    • If you are an MHCC student, you can find career planning assistance at any time at the Career Planning and Counseling Center on the Gresham campus in Room AC1152.
