Chrysler MCAP, IMPORT & Subaru-U Automotive Technology programs are limited entry. Prior to applying, it is very important that you read through the Program Details, curriculum information
for Chrysler MCAP / IMPORT / Subaru U and Enrollment Guidelines for Limited & Restricted Entry Programs.
Accommodations - People requiring accommodations due to disability should contact Accessible Education Services at aes@mhcc.edu or 503-491-6923.
Admissions criteria are subject to change from year to year. The previous year's application information is posted only as a resource. Prerequisite requirements are reviewed annually for each new application year. It is the applicant’s responsibility
to be informed and adhere to all requirements, procedures and deadlines as they may change from year to year. New applicants as well as applicants from previous years must complete the entire application process.
Mt. Hood Community College reserves the right to modify the criteria and the process for selection.
Admission of all students is centralized in the Admissions, Registration, and Records office. Admission to the college does not guarantee admission to the Chrysler MCAP, IMPORT & Subaru-U program. The Admission, Registration and Records office has the
final authority on what constitutes equivalency for all admission criteria and has the sole authority to inform students of their admission status.
The information below is based on the application requirements for Fall term 2022 admission.
Date of Application - The program starts Fall term 2022 (September 26, 2022). Students may submit applications through September 21, 2022. All requirements along with supporting documentation must be received by the Admissions, Registration and
Records office for the application to be considered complete.
Once applicants have met all program criteria, including dealership sponsorship, they are admitted on a first completed, first accepted basis until the program is full. Once the program is full, applicants will be placed on an alternate
list. Please note, students may be accepted at the discretion of the program faculty after the application close date. Entrance into the program or a class/classes may be permissible. However, faculty permission into a class/classes
does not guarantee admission into the program. Students must still apply, and be accepted into the program to have their major changed to MCAP, IMPORT or Subaru-U thereby allowing them to register for program classes.

To Apply
5. MHCC General Admission Application: Complete an MHCC general admission application online if you are new or are
returning after four (4) terms or more. Select General Studies as your major. It will change to Chrysler MCAP/IMPORT/Subaru U if/when you are accepted to the program.
6. MCAP/IMPORT/Subaru U Program Application: Complete the program application by September
21, 2022.
Important Note: All application notifications are sent via email to the email address provided on your application. Please add @mhcc.edu to your "safe senders list". It is your responsibility to set your "spam filter" system to accept email addresses
containing @mhcc.edu.
Dealership/Repair Facility Sponsorship Requirement
7. Students who successfully complete the application process will be notified by email that their application is complete. Your next step will be to obtain a dealership sponsor with guidance from the program adviser/coordinator and maintain that
sponsorship throughout the two-year program. Please note, some dealers require pre-employment drug testing.
Students who lose their dealership sponsorship must work with program instructors/coordinator to locate and apply for new sponsorship; those who are unable to secure a sponsoring dealership will be dropped from the program.
Pre-Approved Sponsorship – The Chrysler MCAP, IMPORT & Subaru-U program works in partnership with industry dealerships. As such, dealerships have the option of pre-approving sponsorship of applicants. These students have priority for admission
which reduces the number of positions available to other applicants per year.
If you are currently working at a dealership, see the Service Manager/Director for possible sponsorship into the program. If he/she is not familiar with the program, have him/her contact the program instructor/coordinator for information.
Applicants who have priority consideration (pre-approved sponsorship) are required to meet the same admissions criteria as the other applicants. Exceptions will be granted in the following cases:
- Sponsored applicant lacks a license, but will have license by September 21, 2022.
- Sponsored applicant does not meet one of the placement scores/coursework but has evidence of sufficient skill required to pass MHCC's auto courses.
- Sponsored applicant is not 18 by the first co-op.
If you have questions regarding admission requirements and procedures, please email LRAdmissions@mhcc.edu.
For questions about the program, contact faculty instructors Eric.Garvey@mhcc.edu or Steve.Michener@mhcc.edu.
Program Acceptance and Registration
8. Acceptance Email: Students must reply to the email from LRAdmissions@mhcc.edu to confirm acceptance of position in the Chrysler MCAP, IMPORT & Subaru-U program.
9. Register for program courses: Students must register for first term courses by the date specified in the acceptance email.
Students who are not accepted into the program, but do meet the admissions criteria, may choose to apply for the summer start program that begins in Summer term 2023.
Please note, students may be accepted at the discretion of the program faculty and department dean after the application close date. Faculty permission into a class/classes does not guarantee admission into the program.
