Thank you for your interest in the Chrysler MCAP, IMPORT and Subaru U Automotive Technology program at Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC).
Graduates claim it is one of the best automotive programs in the Northwest.
The Chrysler MCAP, IMPORT and Subaru U Automotive Technology program is designed to upgrade the technical competency and professional level of incoming dealership technicians. With “state of the art” facilities, over 30 late-model training vehicles and
ASE Master Certified instructors and curriculum, no other college in the state grants more Automotive AAS degrees than MHCC.
Mt. Hood Community College’s new partnership with Subaru increases the value of the automotive technology programs.
Admission into these programs is a process that consists of meeting general education prerequisite course levels, completing the application, securing a dealership sponsor and finally accepting the position and registering for first term courses.
Program Objectives: To train future Automotive Technicians from introductory to advanced automotive diagnosis and repair in the areas of engine repair, automatic transmission/transaxles, manual drive train & axles, suspension and steering,
brakes, electrical/electronic systems, heating and air conditioning, and engine performance.
Dealership Sponsorship: With the guidance of the program adviser, students are expected to contact dealership or independent repair shops to arrange interviews until a suitable sponsorship site has been found. The Automotive Dealership Experience
provides students with paid hands-on learning internships in the second, fourth, sixth and eighth terms. The average time for a student to secure a dealership sponsorship is from one to three months.
National Certification: The Chrysler MCAP, IMPORT and Subaru U automotive programs are Master certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).
