Gas Tungsten Arc Welder Certificate
This program will teach you about gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), which is a kind of welding that uses a special heat from an electric arc. The arc is made between a strong tungsten tip that doesn't melt with the metal you're welding. Through the program, you can earn a certificate with credits that count toward your integrated metals Associate of Applied Science degree. Classes in this program begin in the fall term only.

Your gas tungsten arc welder certificate will teach you all about this unique welding process. You will learn about safety and how to make items that meet American Welding Society (AWS) rules. You’ll also learn to work with carbon steel and aluminum.

You can start the gas tungsten arc welder certificate program during any term. Students admitted to MHCC can sign up for classes in the program after reading, writing, and math placement requirements have been met.
