AR 2410: Board Policies and Administrative Regulations
Board Policy
- Board of Education members, MHCC employees, community members and students may request a policy review, creation, change, or retirement.
- The president is responsible for reviewing requests and the assignment of the policy proposal to a vice resident.
- The governance council structure will be used to review the policy proposal and provide feedback. All councils will receive the policy proposal. Student review of the policy proposal will use the Associated Student Government (ASG) structure.
- All council and ASG policy proposal feedback received will be shared with the Board of Education.
- The policy proposal will be presented to the Board of Education at a work session as a first reading.
- Following the first reading, the policy proposal will be posted for review and comment by MHCC employees. MHCC employees will be notified by email from the President’s Office. The policy proposal will be posted on the intranet for a period of five workdays, at a minimum.
- All employee policy proposal feedback received will be shared with the Board of Education.
- The policy proposal will be presented to Board of Education for a second reading.
- The Board of Education will take action on the policy proposal.
Administrative Regulation (AR)
- MHCC employees, community members and students may request an AR review, creation, change or retirement.
- The president is responsible for reviewing requests and the assignment of the AR proposal to a vice president.
- The governance council structure will be used to review the AR proposal and provide feedback. All councils will receive the AR proposal. Student review of the AR proposal will use the ASG structure.
- All council and ASG AR proposal feedback received will be shared with the vice president assigned to the AR.
- The AR proposal will be posted for review and comment by MHCC employees. MHCC employees will be notified by email from the President’s Office. The AR proposal will be posted on the intranet for a period of five workdays, at a minimum.
- Feedback received will be shared with the vice president assigned to the AR for consideration. The feedback will also be shared with president’s cabinet.
- The AR proposal will be presented to president’s cabinet for final approval.
Policies and administrative regulations will be reviewed on a five-year cycle:
