MHCC Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Title IX

MHCC Commitment to Equity

We place a high value on equity at MHCC.  Equity as a concept and design imperative seeks to:

  • Ensure ALL people have access to resources and opportunities, while understanding that different people have different needs
  • Prioritize using our equity lens to distribute resources and make college decisions
  • Build an equity-minded workforce that recognizes the needs of our community, including those in most need of educational opportunity and uplift
  • Foster educational, personal, and professional growth to embrace difference, and understand power and social justice

Belonging and Inclusion

An environment that is warm and welcoming is necessary for optimal learning and working.  At MHCC we strive to be a place where people of all backgrounds and lived experiences feel seen and valued.  We are responsive to the voices of our stakeholders and working towards a shared future.

MHCC Strategic Plan: Equity Statement

At MHCC, we know it is our duty to align our systems, rules, practices, and resources to strategically and purposefully advance equity. We recognize the harm done to historically excluded people. We work towards a future where all people across the spectrum of difference thrive at MHCC. We seek to provide all people in our college the tools to reach their goals. We design systems to promote fairness and justice.

MHCC prioritizes equity and acknowledges how vital it is to disrupt oppression and remove limits that breed inequity. We strive to become a college that upholds equity in concept, practice, and outcomes, where all people are valued and feel a sense of belonging.

Committed to a Safe Environment

We’re committed to an environment free of bullying, harassment, and discrimination.

MHCC is committed to maintaining a respectful working and learning environment with zero tolerance for all forms of bullying, harassment, and discrimination.
