New Student Checklist
We want to make the process to become a student at Mt. Hood Community College as easy as possible for you. Follow the steps below to complete your application, financial aid, placement testing, and to register for classes. If you have any questions please contact us.
New Student Steps
- Apply for Admissions.
- You will receive a “Welcome” email with your MHCC Student ID, password, and instructions on what to do next.
- Apply for financial aid.
- When you decide to go to college, the first thing to consider is how you will pay for school. If you are applying for financial aid you want to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) or the Oregon Student Aid Application (ORSAA). Also, be sure to explore other ways to cover costs such as scholarships and employer reimbursements. If you are paying out of pocket, a community college like MHCC is a great option for a high-quality education at a reasonable price.
- New students: Please review available course placement options.
- Transfer students: Send us your official transcripts from other schools. After you submit your transcript, request a transfer evaluation.
