Set Up Your Saints Email

A few days after you first sign up for classes, you’ll receive an MHCC email address and free access to Microsoft 365. As long as you remain an active student (signed up for at least one class in the past four terms), you will retain access to this email address. The college will use this address to send you messages, so make sure to check it at least twice a week. To get started setting this up, follow the instructions below.

How to Set up Your Saints email


  • Visit the student portal MyMHCC and log in.
  • Click on the Student Services tab.
  • Click on the Message Center folder on the left side of the page in the gray box. Look for a message called Your SAINTS Password. This will contain your student email address and temporary password.


  • Click on the Saints Email link (under the Quick Links menu) on the left side of MyMHCC. This will take you to the Outlook365 email system.
  • Enter your Saints email address and temporary password.
  • Next, re-enter your temporary password, then create a new password.
  • You’ll have to complete Microsoft verification of your identity. You’ll need to verify your identity in two of three ways.
    • The default verification is to download the Microsoft Authenticator app to your phone and follow the steps for verification. You can also choose to click the link in the lower left-hand corner, Try another way. This will allow you to either enter a phone number for a text message or a phone call for secure access.
  • Set up Self-Service Password Reset. You can set up your email to be able to reset the password via text message, an alternate email address, or a security question.
  • Follow these instructions to set up your Saints email on a phone or tablet.

  • When logging into your Saints email, you should always see the MHCC logo at some point. If you don’t see this, Microsoft may think you’re trying to use a personal account. Always choose work or school account, rather than personal account for MHCC email accounts. Also, make sure to type in all of the info correctly.
  • If you have multiple Microsoft accounts (Microsoft, Hotmail, Outlook), you may have saved these in your browser. The browser can become confused between those accounts. To reduce confusion, open a new private window in Firefox or an Incognito window in Google Chrome, so that your browser will not log into an account right away. This method will not hold onto your login info.
  • If you still can’t log into your Saints email account and you see an error message, you might also need clear the cache on your browser (Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, etc.)
  • Your Microsoft account may only continue to work up to one year after you are an MHCC student. If you have not been an MHCC student for more than a year and you want access to your Saints email account, please call the service desk at 503-491-7448 to gain temporary access to this account. Accounts that are not active after a year may be deleted though.

  • If you don’t see an alert or email message regarding Saints email, click on Personal Info. You can find this next to your name at the top of MyMHCC. Write down your Saints email address. Connect with one of the service desk locations. We’ll need your name, ID, and birthdate to confirm your identity. This will allow us to generate a temporary password.
