AR 4236: College Credit for Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB)
Any student who passes a College Board Advanced Placement (AP) examination with a minimum score of three, four or five, or the International Baccalaureate (IB) exam with a score of four, five, six or seven in a subject matter will be awarded credit in most cases.
If Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) considers it necessary for incoming enrolled students to receive a score of higher than three on one or more AP exam(s) or a score of higher than four on one or more IB exam(s), it may notify the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC). Upon notification the HECC shall convene a committee to determine if MHCC can require a score of higher than three on one or more AP exam or a score of higher than four on one or more IB exams.
The list of subjects MHCC will award for credit is based on tables updated yearly on MHCC’s website.
MHCC shall post its college credit procedure on the college website.
