Men's Basketball

  • The Saints are consistently one of the top programs in the NWAC and were ranked as high as seventh in 2022.  Their success has been built around the foundation of strong academics, solid citizenship, and excellent basketball skills.  The goals of our program continue to be 100% graduation team unity, and striving for continuous improvement. Using a  team oriented offense and defense, study halls, weight training, and community service, the MHCC Men's Basketball program develops the entire person.

  • Syum Named Head Men's Basketball Coach


    The Mt. Hood Saints named alum Alex Syum as the program's head men's basketball coach. 

    A MHCC alumnus, Syum recently served as assistant basketball coach at Clackamas Community College. With extensive basketball knowledge, Alex brings to MHCC experience on a global level having served as head coach for the Singapore National Basketball Team and head coach and head of player development for both Fastbreak Basketball Club and the United World College of Southeast Asia. Currently, he is a basketball ambassador to the country of Enitrea where he assists on basketball opportunities including structuring, coordinating, and scheduling basketball camps.

    "Alex is a gentleman of high integrity, and we are so excited to have him as a part of our program," said athletic director Kim Hyatt. "He brings a lot of great experience to our program having coached and played in the NWAC as well as some international coaching experience.? Alex has great energy and has demonstrated a commitment to the academic success of our students and engaging with our community."
