History
History is the story of who we are and where we come from, and can even reveal where we are heading. The History program at Mt. Hood Community College teaches you about studying past events and changes over time in all aspects of human affairs. Mt. Hood Community College is a great place to get started on your degree before transferring to a four-year school.
The Experience
Program Details
While you pursue your History major you can complete courses toward the Social Science and elective requirements on your associate degree. This lets you earn most of your core credits at a lower cost before transferring to a four-year school to finish your degree. If you want to transfer to a four-year school, you should work with your transfer school of choice and an MHCC advisor to make sure you are taking the right classes.
Your future
Once you complete your associate degree at MHCC, you will most likely want to continue at another four-year university to complete your bachelor’s degree. We make it easy and partner with schools such as Eastern Oregon University, Portland State University, Oregon State University, Southern Oregon University, University of Oregon, and Western Oregon University.
How To Get Started
You can start the History program during any term. Students admitted to MHCC can sign up for classes in the program after reading, writing, and math placement requirements have been met.
