Shielded Metal Arc Welder Certificate
This program teaches you about shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), also known as manual metal arc welding, stick welding, or electric arc welding. Through the program, you can earn a certificate with credits that count toward your integrated metals Associate of Applied Science degree. Once complete, you’ll be ready to test for certification under American Welding Society (AWS) standards. After being certified, you can land a job as a certified welder or get promoted to a better role where you already work.

Your shielded metal arc welder certificate will teach you all about manual metal arc welding, stick welding, or electric arc welding. You will learn about safety and how to make items that meet AWS rules. You’ll also learn to work with carbon steel and aluminum.
