MHCC Volleyball

head coach - kirsten day

Coach Kirsten Day returned to MHCC as the head coach in the spring of 2021. She started playing volleyball in her sophomore year in high school along with club volleyball, and began coaching club volleyball her senior year in high school before playing for MHCC in 1983 and 1984. Since then, Day has coached for many high school programs and college programs. She is also the director of the North Clackamas Volleyball Club and the head coach for the top 14’s team.

Day’s coaching methods have evolved throughout the years, and she believes what is most important for a program to succeed on and off the court is teaching life skills, building trust, creating lifelong relationships, and creating an environment that is positive, interactive, and competitive. Day wants each player to be successful on the court and in the classroom, knowing that they are supported as a student-athlete.

Coach Day also works part-time at the Portland International Airport. She has two grown sons and one grandson.
