The Automotive Technology programs at Mt. Hood Community College teaches skills from basic maintenance to the most complex engine diagnostic methods. Our programs partner directly with car manufacturers like Ford, Chrysler, and Subaru to make sure you learn the skills to work on their vehicles. After graduation, you'll have the skills and experience to succeed in your career.
Goals of MHCC Auto Programs
To develop the technical competency of those who desire to be professional-level automotive technicians by providing bumper-to-bumper training on all areas of the modern vehicle, including mechanical and diagnostic skills.
To offer students valuable hands-on experience, mentoring, and the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills during paid work experience at sponsoring dealership while earning an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in automotive technology from MHCC.
To supply the automotive industry with professional-level technicians who demonstrate safe shop practices and are able to diagnose and repair all automotive systems in accordance with National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) standards.
