The medical office billing and coding degree program prepares you to work in many medical settings. These include offices, hospitals, clinics, insurance firms, government facilities, and nursing homes. You’ll learn all about billing and coding. This includes learning about insurance procedures, industry regulation, billing, compliance, and more. You’ll also build your communication skills to work with other staff and patients.
Your future
When you graduate, you will find work first as a billing specialist or a certified coding specialist. You may also find work in insurance claims clerk, medical records specialist, administrative assistant, medical registrar, and more as you pursue your career.
How To Get Started
You can start the billing and coding degree program during any term. Students admitted to MHCC can sign up for classes in the program after reading, writing, and math placement requirements have been met.
