College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP)
MHCC testing services is an open testing center, which means that we offer College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams to the general public as well as MHCC students. View the CLEP exams that MHCC offers.
For over 50 years, the College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) has offered exams at a fraction of the price of a college course, potentially saving you hundreds of dollars on your college degree. CLEP exams are offered year-round at more than 2,000 CLEP test centers worldwide, including MHCC.
Students who have taken CLEP exams should follow steps on the CollegeBoard website to have their official CLEP transcripts sent to the MHCC Admissions, Records, and Registration office.
How to Sign Up for CLEP Testing
Step One: Sign up for the CLEP test on the College Board’s website
You need to sign up for a test and pay the test fee to the College Board.
Step Two: Schedule your test and pay the MHCC proctoring fee
Appointments are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
MHCC charges a $28.50 fee per exam. If you need to cancel or reschedule, you must do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid forfeiting your full fee. Cancellations, regardless of lead time, will forfeit a $3.50 service fee. There is no fee to reschedule if done more than 24 hours in advance.
Step Three: Take your CLEP test
Bring a government-issued ID card to the testing center at your scheduled testing time and take your test. Acceptable forms of ID include:
- Current passport
- Valid driver’s license
- State ID card
- Tribal ID card
- Naturalization card
