DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSSTs)
MHCC testing services is a National Test Center (NTC) for DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST). Schools and other organizations use DSST testing to measure knowledge in a certain subject area. Based on the achievement of a passing score, candidates will receive college credit for knowledge acquired outside of the classroom. Thirty different subject exams are offered. Each institution determines its passing score requirements.

How to Sign Up for DSST
Step One: Schedule your test and pay the MHCC proctoring fee
Appointments are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
MHCC charges a $28.50 fee per exam. If you need to cancel or reschedule, you must do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid forfeiting your full fee. Regardless of lead time, cancellations will forfeit a $3.50 service fee. Rescheduling is free if done more than 24 hours in advance.
If you are a qualified military candidate who meets DANTES funding requirements, MHCC will waive the proctoring fee.
Step Two: Arrive for your DSST test
Bring photo ID
Non-military candidates: a non-expired driver's license, passport, or student ID card is acceptable.
Service members: a current United States Common Access Card and one other state or government photo ID with a signature is required.
Bring a debit or credit card
You will register for your exam and pay the $100 DSST fee when you arrive for your appointment.
Bring your Score Report Recipient four-digit code
Your score transcript will be sent to your school free of charge as long as you enter the valid site code when you register.
