Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) learning specialists can answer all kinds of questions about your school term, coursework, college life, and more! Many details about college can seem confusing. Everything from reading your schedule to finding your way around campus to locating the best place to buy books and class materials may be new to you. AVID has lots of tips and tricks to help you thrive at MHCC.
AVID academic coaches can help you:
- Adjust to online and in-person learning.
- Connect with resources for tutoring, financial aid questions, available Open Educational Resources (OER), Internet access concerns, scholarships, academic advising, Blackboard, and MyMHCC.
- Create short- and long-term goals you can achieve.
- Make a schedule to manage due dates, study time, classes, work, and personal commitments.
- Learn to better prepare for exams and adopt focus strategies that reduce stress.
- Build confidence using Blackboard and other MHCC technology.
